About the Compendium
This compendium puts together in electronic format selected technical assistance (TA) packages that support the strategies outlined in the 2017-2022 Philippine Strategic Tuberculosis Elimination Plan Phase 1 (PhilSTEP1). Developed by USAID’s Innovations and Multisectoral Partmerships to Achieve Control of Tuberculosis (IMPACT) project, it consists of TA interventions intended to help advance the progress charted by the Department of Health National Tuberculosis Control Program along three major tasks. These are (i) find all TB cases, (ii) ensure all TB cases are cured, and (iii) secure an enabling environment for quality TB services.
Implemented by LGU partners with IMPACT technical support from 2012 to 2017 across 43 project sites, the TA interventions were shown to yield significant results. To expand the benefits of these initiatives among other LGUs, the compendium provides TA providers like DOH Regional Offices (DOH ROs) and Provincial Health Offices (PHOs) as well as TB service providers with the tools to enhance program performance. Backed by DOH ROs and PHOs, and guided by the step-by-step processes provided in this compendium, other LGUs will hopefully share the gains from applying the following:
1. Find all TB cases and ensure they are cured
- Guidelines in Establishing a DOTS Network

2. Ensure an enabling environment for quality TB services
